• If you want to give a presentation for 10 participation points, you need to let me know ASAP: we only have 4 class meetings left (plus a week of conferences).
• Participation Point Options:
  • Optional Blog Post (DUE before class next Tuesday 11/19)
    • Write a blog post (500 words minimum) in the style of the Memoir Mixtapes pieces in which you discuss your personal anthem(s). What is your personal anthem? What “subculture[s], movement[s], or point[s] of view” does it identify you with? What is a formative moment that illustrates the importance of this song to you? Worth 2 points.

AND/OR

• Optional Mini Project (DUE before class next Tuesday 11/19)
  • Create a mashup (approx. 30 seconds in length) of at least three songs that are important to you. Once you’ve completed your mashup, write a rationale (250 words minimum) in which you describe your process of choosing your songs and mixing them together as a mashup. What is gained and what is lost by putting these songs together? What clashes and what fits together? Worth 5 points.
